All things seemed to have settle down in Rosewood but as only the Liars know, A is still out there. And even though Helper A has been put away in jail, Ali still has minions. Specifically a following of Ali Cats who like many groupies of socios and murderers believe Ali is a misunderstood hero and would love to help her in any way they can.
However, I can see why A would be pissed off as the girls way of moving on seems to be profiting off their fame.
Hanna for instance is cast in a new movie based on their second act with Helper A, and is soon making buds with the whole cast and crew and finding a new calling on camera. Plus Hanna has a fun meta reference when she wonders if Lucy Hale could play her in the new movie (For those not in the know, Lucy Hale plays Aria in the PLL tv show).
Aria gets her first major art sale from a big buyer who purcheses her Ali picture which brings about gallery show offerings, art interviews and exclusives. Just what Aria needed as she worried about what she would do with her life during her gap year.
Spencer seems to have found some real humility by creating an anti-bullying website for others to share their stories, and garnering a potential two book deal from HarperCollins. She has a really nice moment of growth in the end too regarding these two opportunities that show how she has moved past her type A, need to overachieve, only number one self. Have I mentioned she is my favorite?
And Emily. . . well Ali ruins Emily’s life first and it brings out a horrifying unhingedness from Emily that as she realizes almost turns her as bloodthirsty as A.
Like I said, Ali is still out there and willing to use, maim and murder anyone to get to her goal. The A notes are gone now, instead we have prologues that give chilling insight to Ali’s mind and how terminator-esque determined she is to bring down the girls once and for all and with the cliffhanger, it seems like she is about to unveil her final ace up her sleeve.
