Top 5 Disney Fairies Books

My very very biased raking less based on story plots and more on who was my favorite fairy and hw pretty the illustrations were.

1. Rani in the Mermaid Lagoon by Lisa Papademetriou

First off Rani because Rani was my favorite. The girl cut off her wings to save Neverland. She is amazing, also I loved her long hair. She pretty and goodhearted and I loved her. This story explores the dificulties she has as the only wingless fairy, feeling excluded and unable to join as she used to. And it continues her fascination with mermaids, showing off the self absorbed natures and exploring another part of Neverland.

2. Fire and the Full Moon by Gail Herman

I relate a lot more to Fira now who is a take charge fairy who tends to shoulder everything herself and not let others help her and often suffers from exhuastion and stress as a result. Same just same. So I enjoyed her story and believe others can connect with her. I just think she deserved a second book like the others got.

3. Vidia and the Fairy Crown by Laura Driscoll

Ah she became a recent favorite as I have gotten older and appreciate anti hero. Well not so much a hero, she’s prickly. And that’s what I enjoy about this spotlight on Vidia. We see her loneliness and vulnerability but she doesn’t become redeemed. She doesn’t become friends with everyone and actually keeps in touch with her prickly personality. It keeps things interesting in Neverland.

4. Fawn and the Mysterious Trickster by Laura Driscoll

This was a fun one with all the pranks that ensue between Beck and Fawn. Then the underlying mystery of the third prankster that butts into their game brings about a great surprise twist.

5. Dulcie’s Taste of Magic by Gail Herman

This was a fun adventure from another one that I think should have had another book. Dulcie’s time as head of the kitchen brings about a major mistake when she tackles too much. So she’s forced to deal with taking a rest from the job/talent she loves thanks to the conniving ursuper Ginger. But it also provides a valuable lesson as Lily and Dulcie adventure to make a super special new recipe that proves Dulcie hasn’t lost her touch. And again, the illustrations are just gorgeous and make the food look insanely yummy.

Here’s a few more that couldn’t quite make the top 5 but I still enjoy a lot.
