Pretty Little Liars: Wanted Review

This is going to be a spoilery and short review as many of the events here were revealed in Ali’s Pretty Little Lies so the only ticking clock was waiting for the Liars to figure out the true killer themselves.

The girls are determined to put the past behind them now that Ali’s supposed killer is in jail, trying their best to dismiss the little nagging voice in their heads pointing out the inconsistancies after all it seems everything is solved.

Nuh uh, with the killer jailed the DiLaurentis family feel safe enough to reveal their big secret, Alison’s secret twin sister, Courtney!

If you’ve read APLL than you know Courtney is really Alison who wants her old life back and she uses that truth for own twisted means to get the Liars to believe that she’s their Ali (who know was actually Courtney). It’s actually pretty genius how she plays to all their secret desires-Spencer for a sister and a decent family, Hanna to be acknowledged that she’s not a chubby loser, Emily to have her feelings requited.

Though I must applaud Aria for being the most reasonable in trusting her gut to not fall for Ali/Courtney’s act. Until the very end when Ali preys on her wish to be in a close group of friends again. She almost held out but I’m proud of her.

Emily on the other hand aggravated me a bit. I know Ali was her first crush, her first love and all that but Ali was a bitch. She was a bitch then to everyone including Emily and despite all the evidence to the contrary, despite having Maya and Isaac displaying what a good relationship with mutual feelings was like, she still hanged on to Ali. Because she was pretty, it really couldn’t be for her personality, could it? Anyway, I hope with the reveal of Ali/Courtney trying to kill them and confirming Courtney’s murder, she can finaly move on.

Spencer and Hanna also got good endings too with the Hastings seemingly moving on from their picture-perfect overachieving facade and Hanna taking the chance to go for Mike despite the popularity points that will be dropped. Though I liked Lucas, Mike does fit better with Hanna. Lucas deserves better.

So all’s well in Rosewood and wrapped up neatly with a slight ambiguous end to kep you guessing as to Ali’s fate. But it’s the end as this was supposed to be the final book in the series.

Yet we know how A has a tendency to rise from the dead. See you tomorrow.
